Weekend Games

Alright, I'm not going to continue with this "Good Games on Better Consoles" crap, I'm going to give a review on a game I played this weekend. What I am going to comment are two separate games. The first is "Violet Assassin" for Xbox 360. I rented it two weekends ago, and played it for about half an hour before turning it off and never playing it again.
It was horrible. The controls were awful, the stealth segments were dumb and the control were never quick enough, and I had trouble remembering them. The only upside was they gave me a poster when I rented it, but the poster was lame anyways so I just threw it out.
The next game was the one based off the movie, "X Men Origins: Wolverine." I watched the movie, and found it interesting and satisfying enough to want to add it to my extensive DVD collection. However, compared to the game, the movie was crap. The game is godlike, although it is required to watch the movie to understand the game, due to plot segments and constant time-line switching.
Like I said, it would be confusing without first watching the movie. I don't want to give away ANY of the plot, so I'll just have to work with game play. Now, in the movie Wolvie's claws were somewhat of a disappointment. They looked totally CGI animated, and the combat wasn't very fluid. In the game, the claws are highly detailed, and don't look like a stupid CGI add on.
Also, the combat is very vivid and smooth, and not nearly as choppy as the movie. You also get to use Feral Sense, which helps you proceed through the game by seeing objects you can interact with. The coolest part of the game is Wolverines regeneration factor, and how gory game play can get. In on instance, I was getting shot up with a turret.
Bullets where ripping through his body, leaving bullet holes, and I was being shot in the face, exposing skull. By the time I ended the gunner, my chest was a mass of blood and flesh, and I looked like the terminator. However, within seconds the wounds healed, and all that was left was his torn shirt and some left over blood. I find that to be a really cool factor. In conclusion, I would definitely recommend this game.
It was amazing, the combat was intense and filled a lot of plot holes that the movie left behind.

Games On Better Consoles

Today, I'm going to be thinking wishfully. If this DID happen I would be pleased, but right now this is just for my posting deadline. I'm going to be talking about which console exclusive games I want to see on other platforms. To kick this off, I want to talk about Peter Molyneux's latest title, "Fable II," an "Xbox 360" exclusive. The first game was also exclusive to the "Xbox," and I guess I should start there.
It came out sometime in 2005 (I think), and was loved from the day it was released. The graphics were good, the gameplay was amazing, controls were fluent and the storyline amazing. The only bad thing about the game (at least I think) was the fact that Mr. Molyneux didn't make the game live up to it's hype. They said there would be Co-op, for one.
Actually, I'm not really sure what some of the things were that he promised, at the time I only played "Playstation 2." It was later on (three years ago I believe) that I bought an "Xbox" and played Fable. I think the game was awesome, and so did everyone else. They later came out with "Fable: Lost Chapters" also for the "Xbox" and the "PC," and it became a Platinum game. But then they realized that they needed to make a "Fable II," and with what better console than the "Xbox 360".
I think they also released it for the "PC," but I don't play "PC" games (except "World Of Warcraft" and "Diablo"). So anyways, the game took about two years to develop, and when it was released it lived up to its height. The game had new features, a new storyline, and pretty much a new world. Its set five hundred years after the first game, and features new areas and new weapons, including guns to replace bows. They changed the control to a simple tap of a button for the otherwise hard to use magic, and they even added a Dog to help you.
I must say that this Dog is an amazing piece of work, and is controlled by the game itself, not you. The thing has good AI as well, better than most games AI ("Halo 3", just kidding). They also added new features, such as making babies and being a woman, which you couldn't do in the first game. One thing that failed with this game, was the Co-op. It was only available with
"Xbox -Live," and it sucked anyways because the character would act as a henchman, and unless you were careful he could be allowed to ruin your world by murdering your wife or children when your not around.
Anyways, the game is epic and is now Platinum, which is why I want to share it with other people. If it was on the "PS3," it would have better graphics, and it would probably have some new stuff added to it. If it was on the "Wii," it would be ruined with bad graphics and choppy graphics. Oh well, you win some you lose some. In another post I'm going to talk about "Infamous," and in another I'm going to talk about "No More Heroes."

Spore

Today I have nothing to rant about. I've just been playing old PS2 games and reading. Haven't even touched my Xbox in a week. I played "Halo Wars" for a day (VERY STUPID) and rented "Bioshock" (THE BEST) again. I guess all I have to talk about is Spore.
I just played it last night at a friends house. At first you pick you planet and name it, then you start the game. It's pretty simple in the beginning, you start out as some Spore, who just crashed on the planet from some meteor. You slowly move around, eating protein until you mate, and then you spend the protein to evolve you Spore, either buying things to help you eat, make you faster, or giving you some type of weapon to wipe out your enemies, which would be other Spores.
After about a half an hour of mating and changing genetically, I finally advanced for enough to earn some intelligence, and then I grew legs, and was able to walk on land. Bringing the rest of the evolved Spores, I came onto dry land, and started becoming a weird little creature. As I ate protein, obtained from the dead bodies of other animals, I started to change again, being able to grow arms, hands, feet, horns, and even wings for flight. Apparently as you get farther in the game, you change from creatures to cavemen, and from their you enter the middle ages and even the modern era's.
Even though I had a limited time to play it, I enjoyed it thoroughly, going far enough to even recommend people to buy and play it. It's not a violent mature rated gore-fest, and it's not just a dumb kids game either.
Lots of fun, and tons of replay value, the only downsides are the fact that it's for the PC, and that it's all about the theory of evolution. Christians will not like it.

Kids Games

I have been a fan of video games since the beginning of time. Not really though, because I'm not that old. I liked games since I was three. And from that age of three, I have played TONS OF GAMES. Kids game, Teen rated, M rated, I've played them all.
But when I was a kid there were a lot of E rated games. On the old PS I played Spyro the Dragon and Crash Bandit till my fingers were sore. But nowadays I can't find many E rated games on the PS3 or the 360. I think "Kameo, Blue Dragon and Viva Pinata" are rated E, but who the hell is gonna play that? I mean, the only console that really has any E rated games is Wii, but they have to many.
Which is why they suck. I think I'm losing my touch. I can't really argue about E rated games not being on the Xbox 360 and PS3. I think it's kind of better that way actually. On the PS2 my sister would always stop me from playing "Rockband" and "Metal Gear Solid 3," so she could play "Bratz" or "Barbie" or some stupid thing.
Now she can't take away from my time on the 360, but she still wants to watch her dumb movies on it. Why am I talking about my sister anyways. Theirs some really crazy birds walking around outside right now. All right, I have to get away from the computer.
This is weird. I'll post................Later.
